Spring is here, and Easter the first holiday of the new season!
After a mild, but long winter in Niagara, the excitement to get back in the garden is upon us. Our garden centre & gift store doors are open! The colours & smells of Spring are in the air!
Even though we can’t start planting, here is a list of some early spring things to do to get ready for the upcoming season and help satisfy our ‘green thumbs’.
List of Early Spring Gardening Tips
Clean out the tool shed
Throw out any broken tools or pots, sharpen tools, sweep, clean windows, organise, etc. Tip – your mobile phone for photos to identify any items that you need to replace & use it for your shopping list.
Get rid of garden debris
Sweep up the old leaves that blew into the crooks of the driveway, walkways, patios, etc. Pull out any weeds that may have been left over from last season. Watch out for new growth though that may be growing underneath the winter leaves.
Bring in your garden pots to Seaway Farm for planting
This is the time of year to bring in your containers to have our team create a custom arrangement for your garden, patio or balcony. We will plant them and store them until later in the Spring when they are ready to be put out.
